how nvidia reference* bios saved me...
This is a discussion about how nvidia reference* bios saved me... in the Windows Hardware category; Since I got Asus 5PA mobo I was having frequent freezes on my K6-2 550 w/ Diamond v770 (TNT2), when I was surfing the net I tried to not to breathe to hard and don't make sharp scrooling in browser window, as it was a sure fast way to freeze my system.

Now several days ago I discovered the ZOIAH HQ site @ www.xs4all.nl/~bmsmit
and after downloading and flashing the
newest available NVIDIA refernce bios (well actually an engineering
release), I'm finally through with my freezing problem! Hurray!
So if you're having a problem, of which your video card could be
a contributor to, it might be a good idea to try and to flash
a new bios.
BE WARNED: Read all the instructions/precautions before attempting
to flash a new bios.

Well, this f*cked up my card. I've got a Creative TNT2 Ultra. I flashed it with the newest bios, rebooted to win2k. Now I get 20.1-30.2fps in Opengl, and 11.1 in D3D. Tried restoring it with my old bios, still the same results. Then I flashed it with an offical Creative BIOS, still no luck. Get ****ty fps in both Win2k and WinME, tried different drivers too
Update: Turn out that the VSync suddenly was turned on, turned it off and everything works perfect now
