HP CD -Writer 8200 plus problems
This is a discussion about HP CD -Writer 8200 plus problems in the Windows Hardware category; Hi folks, hope I can get some information from ya. . here is the problem I am having. . My CD RW says it is not a read/write cd? Have all the drivers that I can think of latest ones from adaptec 4. 02 etc.

Thi is what it says when I try to move a file from one folder to my CD RW drive. "Cant copy xxx file -files on this CD-ROM drive are read-only". you cannot copy or move files to this cd rom drive..
if I try to save say a text file to my cd rw.. this is the message
you do not have permissons to open this file( i am not trying to open one anyhow trying to save it to my cdrw) see the owner of the file or an admin to obtain perm.
I am set as admin on the PC...No clue would love some help on this..thanks
oh... and it works fine when I burn a cd with adaptec.. just cant drag/drop a darn file or save a file to it...

Are you useing Win2k?
Are you runing EZ-CD Creader 4 normal or some kind of HP hybrid?
Are you then runing Adaptec DirectCD?
Is your burner on it's own IDE chain?
There is definately not enough info in your post to warrent any kind of diagnosis!

and direct cd 3.01

got it.. reinstalled direct cd for the 6th time it works now... thanks again
