Incomplete boot with RC2
This is a discussion about Incomplete boot with RC2 in the Windows Hardware category; I just finished upgrading from RC1 to RC2. Installation was uneventful (except it couldnt find driver for old ISA scanner SCSI card) but now, every time I boot up I get a blank screen with nothing but the wallpaper and the mouse pointer.
I just finished upgrading from RC1 to RC2. Installation was uneventful (except it couldnt find driver for old ISA scanner SCSI card) but now, every time I boot up I get a blank screen with nothing but the wallpaper and the mouse pointer. I can finish the boot process by bringing up the task manager, hitting the "new task" button and manually entering c:/winnt/explorer.exe. Then the boot process finishes and everything works,
except I cannot start Windows Explorer from Start Menu. Wierd. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated...By the way, I have already tried to create a new user, already tried to reinstall, and even tried a fresh
installation. Still get same problem. Any ideas?
