Internet Connection Sharing

This is a discussion about Internet Connection Sharing in the Windows Hardware category; I can't get my W98 box to share my w2k server internet connection. My win2k prof comp can connect just fine. The w98 comp can browse the lan network. The server has a LAN NIC and an Internet NIC. The w98 has default gateway set at 192.

The server has a LAN NIC and an Internet NIC. The w98 has default gateway set at 192.168.0.1 (server lan nic ip), otherwise uses DHCP for net info.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

i'm still trying to get mine to work as well... If you look in the w2k help files, it says you need to set up static routes in the RAS/ROUTING mmc
has anyone got this working?

It works fine for me and the only thing I had to do was enable it.

That is: on the server machine (RC2), right click the dial up connection and enable sharing in the property tab.

There is nothing to do on the client (W98) machine. Just make sure it is setup to get its configuration automatically, i.e. no IP address assigned, no gateway assigned and so on.

I just set up the same thing on my computer. Works great, no SyGate or WinGate needed...catch me on ICQ (2991793) if you want a more detailed explanation.
