IP Address in use error

This is a discussion about IP Address in use error in the Windows Software category; I am on a college lan, i rebooted my computer, and I cant get on the network. We use DHCP (i think it is enabled) but I get errors now says Your computer has dected the ip address xxx. xxx. xxx. xxx for the network card xxxxxx is already in use on the network.

I am on a college lan, i rebooted my computer, and I cant get on the network. We use DHCP (i think it is enabled) but I get errors now says " Your computer has dected the ip address xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx for the network card xxxxxx is already in use on the network. your compute rwill automatically obtgain a new ip address" well, i have that all over my event viewer. I cant get on the network at all. I have removed my NIC, tcpip, and microsoftg network, rebootged, same stuff! PLEASE help. How can I fix this annoying problem. I went into command prompt, tryed to release it, wont let me, and renew it, it gave me the same ip address. our network at this college is dynanmic ips, not static
