Microsoft IntelliBlunder

This is a discussion about Microsoft IntelliBlunder in the Windows Hardware category; I just purchased a Microsoft IntelliMouse Explorer (the optical mouse with two additional buttons), only to find out that the included IntelliPoint software (required for the additional buttons) doesn't work with Windows 2000.

How absurd is that? You'd think that Microsoft would have seen the Win2k problem coming

My Intellimouse explorer software works flawlessly

you need to add -win2000 to command line arguments for the set.

Make a short cut to the actual setup.exe file not the autorun setup.exe

In this shortcut at the end "x:\yourpathhere\setup.exe win2000"

All will be good.

OP
Thanks for the tip. I found all of the warnings about incompatibilities very comforting

BTW, have you read Microsoft's official statement regarding the IntelliMouse Explorer? Check it out!
