MPG problem
This is a discussion about MPG problem in the Windows Hardware category; For some reason. . my machine, whenever i play mpg movie files, says The version testing date is expired. after which it plays the movie fine, but it is still really annoying, i tried unistalling and resinstalling wmp7, but this made no change.
For some reason.. my machine, whenever i play mpg movie files, says "The version testing date is expired." after which it plays the movie fine, but it is still really annoying, i tried unistalling and resinstalling wmp7, but this made no change.. if anyone can shed some light on this it would be greatly appreciated.

you have beta software installed somwhere, probably either directx 8 , or media player, get a newer version, direct x rc0, can be found at http://zoiah.m3dzone.com, and media player from any magazine cd, or microsoft.
Actually...do you have winDVD 2000 installed? The Trial? because if you do, that is the source of your problem. Once the trial expires...it expires their MPG playing software too...which is what is used by default on 2k...sucks a big one if you ask me...
to fix it...well...uninstall windvd and reinstall WMP...hopefully if all goes well the message will go away...
