MPS revision and MPS type?

This is a discussion about MPS revision and MPS type? in the Windows Hardware category; Hi guys, I was looking at my bios setting and found this: MPS revision 1. 1 or 1. 4 and MPS revision ISA type or generic can anyone help me in what this means? In the manual it says, select 1. 1 and 1.

Hi guys, I was looking at my bios setting and found this:
 
MPS revision 1.1 or 1.4
and
 
MPS revision ISA type or generic
 
can anyone help me in what this means? In the manual it says, select 1.1 and 1.4 and doesn't explain what it does. I have a dual pentium II 450 running W2K Thanks guys

MPS is "Multi Processor Support", and refers to the level of BIOS support given to SMP machines. As a general rule, higher is better - however, some ABit BIOS revisions stopped supporting USB under W2K when MPS 1.4 was selected.
 
You should be able to get more info from www.intel.com
