It does work.
I don't have it installed right now, but I'm 99% sure it's the same process as getting Jedi Knight to run. For Jedi Knight to work, you have to run the JK.exe instead of the JEDI.exe. Try somethign similar for MOTS.

Tried that, it gets me past the DirectX message and it asked me to put the 2nd Jedi knight cd in.
 
But then the screen goes black, as if it's about to start the game, then returns to windows and explorer is killed.
