hi,
i have a win2kpro box and have been running need for speed III without any problems couple of months ago. now i installed it again, but i can't seem to save any settings (player name/options/etc.) so every time i enter the game, everything is at default and nfs3 asks me for my name again... this is really frustrating. i think it might be either because of the new sp2 or some (in)compatibility updates from microsoft. anyone else had this problem? or are you all still trying to get high stakes running?

anyway, i would really appreciate any help you can give me on this...

thank you.

ok, so i found out it's because of this message at the start which says nfs3 needs at least 1mb of disk space for saving the game. i used apcompat.exe with the "correct 2gb+" setting clicked and it works now. do you know if i can make this permanent, like a command line or something maybe so i don't have to go through apcompat.exe always?

thanks...
