Need some help with AVG 6.0 free edition antivirus

This is a discussion about Need some help with AVG 6.0 free edition antivirus in the Windows Software category; Ok It is really fine on my system but i notice that when i first load up win2k my cpu usage is beyween 39% and 100% and I hear the hard drive running. I am assuming that it is scanning some file at startup so I disabled resident shield but then I lose email scanning.
