Netscape memory leak in win2k
This is a discussion about Netscape memory leak in win2k in the Windows Software category; I'm having a severe problem with Netscape Communicator version 4. 7. When I use it and open any html page, the memory usage shoots way up into the 500+ megs range, using up all my virtual memory and then crashing out, sometimes taking everything with it.
I'm having a severe problem with Netscape Communicator version 4.7. When I use it and open any html page, the memory usage shoots way up into the 500+ megs range, using up all my virtual memory and then crashing out, sometimes taking everything with it. This just started today, but I'm not aware that I did anything besides check this forum. I tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it, but that didn't seem to help any because it does the same thing now. I tried to check on Netscape's home page, but I gave up due to the fact that it seems to be totally unnavigable for any real tech support. If anyone has any clue what I could do to fix this, I'd appreciate it!

well the obvious solution would be to not use netscape, IE works and is in your system already, and opera is head and shoulders above any version of netscape.. the last non-flakey version of netscape in my opinion was 3.02 but thats just me as to memory leak in netscape sounds like a problem I have no idea sorry
