New compatibility update keeps failing install???

This is a discussion about New compatibility update keeps failing install??? in the Windows Games category; I tried downloading it earlier today from the link here, and it said it could not install because it was unable to replace a system protected file required to run the update. So then later tonight I went to the Windows Update website and tried it, and that too failed.
