This is a discussion about New Fragging Game in the Windows Games category; Well, I just picked up Serious Sam today. Wow! If you like to shoot things, this is THE game to get. Apparently, its got a new engine to it, the Serious engine. Anandtech has been raving about this game.

Wow! If you like to shoot things, this is THE game to get. Apparently, its got a new engine to it, the Serious engine. Anandtech has been raving about this game. If you want an interesting storyline, this wont be your bag. If you like to kill a bunch of enemies, it is. Its not just teams of enemies, but swarms of them, and many of them are big dudes.
You barely have time to breath with the onslaught of enemies. And this is on the Tourist mode.
You will like the weapons. Its a frag fest for all.

I've been patiently for this game, and still have about 2 weeks left to wait before it's released in the UK!
I played the tech demos that were released and they were great fun. Multi-player was a laff as well.

I have played through almost half of the game and it is AWESOME!! I don't know what the other modes are like, I am playing through in Serious Mode. Kind of reminds me of Doom in the way that the monsters just keep spawing and spawning and you wonder if you are ever going to kill all of them. I really enjoy it. It is a nice change to the first person shooters that have come out recently. Two thumbs UP!!

Definately the BEST no-brainer shooter of the year and I have'nt had this much fun playing a game in a long time. The multiplayer was terribly laggy for me but the menu does not show ping times for online games so there is no way to know your ping.Hats off to the developers for creating such a beautiful game that can actually perform liquid smooth on a slow computer..ie 300mhz.
I love this game!! The cooperative multiplay is fantastic. I haven't had so much fun with a game for quite a while now.
Having 8 players running along firing miniguns and rocket launchers at huge barrages of enemies is just so refreshing and great fun.

It's a simple minded game, therefore it appeals to me. The online play seemed a little choppy, but I need more time to play it several servers. It could be just the one server I was on.

JUST finished the game. I was in "NORMAL" mode. It was one of the best action games I have ever seen!! I recommend it to everyone who has time for some fraggin'!!

The game is only $20, but you may be able to buy it for less. That is an excellent deal for the game, especially considering its a totally new game engine and a totally new game.

You should be able to download the technology tests from FilePlanet.

Tell ya what.. this game scares the **** outta me. Those big skeleton thingies with huge claws and all those headless guys, oh and then I ran into this big scorpion Rambo thingie. Darn scary game. Jumping outta my seat half the time. And it never ends!
It is a great game and the engine is relatively fast.
They have utilised the usual tricks to give the impression of vast distances wihtout resorting to fogging.
I play it when i'm just going out ..gets the blood pumping.
