Online gaming laggy in win2k, any ideas?
This is a discussion about Online gaming laggy in win2k, any ideas? in the Windows Networking category; My ping is low in Quake2, via internal isdn card, and the frames are smooth in win98, but when i go online in win2k my Quake2 frames stutter, like there is lag for some reason even though i get the same low ping.
My ping is low in Quake2, via internal isdn card, and the frames are smooth in win98, but when i go online in win2k my Quake2 frames stutter, like there is lag for some reason even though i get the same low ping.Quake2 does'nt stutter in single player, so it is related to online play in win2k. Any ideas on how to fix this?

check the swap file and increase if necessary.
stick with win98 as win2000 is hardware hungry unless u've got a powerful computer to take advantage of the OS - that's probably the reason y ur running tht game so slow. also try not to run any programs in the background while playing the game - AV programs can slow down the performance
