Options Menu with Det 2 crashes W2K

This is a discussion about Options Menu with Det 2 crashes W2K in the Windows Hardware category; I tried out the settings in the Options Menu in the Display settings for my Geforce (Det2) and set it to Discrete Monitor Timing. Now I cannot switch it back because. . . everytime I do it, I get a blue screen (read at 0x0000000 or so).

And by the way, can someone tell me how to get refresh rates other than 75 Hz in OpenGL or Direct 3D (my monitor has 115KHz, this sucks....)

OP
I do have a Soundblaster Live, but I have a BX2000 from Gigabyte.
I tried numerous driver installs, but nothing helped. I don't want to reinstall W2K since I did not have any other crash, yet (have it installed and running for 3 weeks now, every program works).

Oh and I searched through the posts of the last 60 days and I finally found a description of how to edit what inf. Thx.
I also looked into a lot of FAQs to find the info, but I couldn't.

My system specs:
PIII 600E @ 800EB
BX2000 (BX Chipset...)
Creative GeForce DDR
160mb RAM (PC100 at 3-3-3)
IBM DJNA 15.2 GB HDD
German Windows 2000 Pro
Soundblaster Live! Value
WinTV primio
Pioneer 10x DVD
Iiyama Vision Master 451 with the monitor's driver installed.
