PCI Cable/TV Tuner
This is a discussion about PCI Cable/TV Tuner in the Windows Hardware category; Will Win2000 ever support TV Tuner hardware that uses the bt848 (not definite) driver? I recently received a free card from a friend and of course I can watch my cable tv on Win98 with it, but with Win2000, it doesn't support it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You will need to seek out the card's manufacturer for support. What TV Card is it?

I can't remember exactly, but I believe it was a Magic Xpress, or something like that.. I'll have to look it up again. This is the first time I've had any experience with tuner cards.

AFAIK, the only cards that have semifunctional drivers for win2k are from Avermedia and Hauppauge - your card may be Express TV, made by a company which I think is of the same name and who's website at http://www.comp-express.com is no longer available (not a good sign). Good luck

I had been to their site not a month ago, my memory escapes me, but I do believe they are still around, at least I hope they are!
