PhoenixNet & Award BIOS

This is a discussion about PhoenixNet & Award BIOS in the Windows Hardware category; I was wondering if anyone has a motherboard with the new PhoenixNet/Award BIOS? I had Win98 , and it put all kinds of stuff on my desktop and ran in my system tray , and all it did was link to a page that allowed me to d/l free programs that anyone who's been on the net for more than a week already has.

I was wondering if anyone has a motherboard with the new PhoenixNet/Award BIOS? I had Win98 [before I did a full switch to Win2K], and it put all kinds of stuff [internet shortcuts] on my desktop and ran in my system tray [2 things I can't stand, call me crazy], and all it did was link to a page that allowed me to d/l free programs that anyone who's been on the net for more than a week already has [RealPlayer and Acrobat Reader]. I like the new startup screen it gives before booting an OS though [except that it takes 2 buttons to get into the BIOS now].

Well, I was just wondering if anyone else had it.

I have found this bios upgrade causes serious problems with windows 2000. It seems that if you remove a internal device i.e. a video card and reinstall it with drivers not included with windows it will not install properly. The driver will install but after a reboot no changes are saved. This is including screen res.
