I have been wanting to do a clean install of Win98 and win2000 Professional. The only problem is i can not uninstall Windows 2000 completly. I formatted the drive it was previously in (C:/), but i still notice the 2 Cpu's text in my bios when i load up, which means that my computer still recognizes win2000 as still being on the machine. Can anyone please tell me how to completly uninstall windows 2000 so i can do a fresh install of win98 and eventually dual boot with 2000.

Of course your PC notices 2 cpu's, thats the bios' job. Everything in your computer has to be recognised and identified before it even gets anywhere near an OS. Wouldn't you think something is wrong if you turned on your computer and it said you had NO cpu's?

Windows 2000 is not on your computer if you formatted drive c: (assuming that is really where you installed windows 2000). Your bios can not possibly detect which os you have and the os does not change the bios in any permanent fashion as you are describing. If you are running an smp system then, as Seldzar said, your bios should be reporting that. One more time - if you formatted your system drive, it is PATENTLY IMPOSSIBLE for there to be any remnant of the operating system left.
