This is a discussion about Problems with Alpha Centauri/Heroes III in the Windows Games category; Hi all! I've been searching this forum for an answer to my question without success, so I thought I might post it - sorry if this has been posted before. Alpha Centauri: Game seems to work fine under Win2000, but for some reason I am not able to move units around with the keypad (yes, I checked - NumLock is on).

Hi all!

I've been searching this forum for an answer to my question without success, so I thought I might post it - sorry if this has been posted before.

Alpha Centauri: Game seems to work fine under Win2000, but for some reason I am not able to move units around with the keypad (yes, I checked - NumLock is on). Am I missing something obvious here???

Heroes of Might and Magic III (Armageddon's Blade): Every Now and then, the screen goes black and the computer reeboots. I suspect this has something to do with the Soundcard. After I switched off the music, it seems to crash less often - but it still crashes.

And a final problem: SettlersIII (Best buy edition). I just bought Settlers III in the cheap, best buy edition. I know there are some problems with not finding the CD-Rom in the 1.6 patch and that the 1.35 patch should be used for this game. Problem is that in this version of the game, the 1.6 patch is included in the installation. Is there any way around this..??

any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Vemund

PS. I have an old, but fairly standard system:

PII 300 Mhz
128 Mb RAM
Win2000 SR1
Matrox G400 (with latest drivers)
DirectX 8
Soundblaster AWE 64 (Win2000 drivers)
