What kind of videocard are we talking about?
Maybe there are newer drivers for it?

That last line means that the servers point release version is not the same as yours you have 1.11 ..from what I remember 1.25 is the latest one but most players still use the older 1.17.

I was getting the exact same thing. I managed to rectify it by reapplying the 117 patch (I was either using this or 116n before), and this got it working again.
Maybe the cause was the updated Direct Play in DX8 or something...who knows.

Which drivers are you useing dgcartel ?.
