This is a discussion about quake 3 a3d in the Windows Games category; Anyone have the problem under w2k where when in quake 3 if you turn on a3d you cant hear your self moving or firing, you can only some times hear the others firine if they fire at your. Amd k7 500 w/ 3dnow and mmx.

just wanna know how u guys installed mx300 in win2k?
win2k auto detected my souncard as aureal audio ... hence i cannot get the mx300 utility(on the sytray) to work ..
any comments?

i downloaded the new drivers for my mx300 at this place http://saturn.spaceports.com/~a3dfan/w2k
but i was only onece able to get that vortex thiny in the systray to work. but anways, you need to search all your folders in yoru computer for au---- files. anything with au or vortex or wdm, get rid of them before installing and rename that i386 driver thiny that windows looks at to get its drivers from. http://saturn.spaceports.com/~a3dfan/w2k should tell you how to do it. restart and it should detect and install....
