A3D is a 3 dimensional software driver in the diamond multimedia based sound cards....eax is the 3d driver for live!, there is no support for eax in Quake3A at this time.....sorry
Actually that's not true. The Sound Blaster Live! supports A3D 1.0 through software, and should work with Q3A fairly well, though probably not quite as well as an Aureal Vortex/Vortex 2 card (not just Diamond's vortex card btw). However this software emulation, aswell as EAX is not supported in the current Win2K drivers. Unless of course you managed to get Liveware 3 working properly on win2K, something i've been unable to do. Once Creative finishes the real SBLive! drivers for 2K with live!ware support, i'm quite sure this feature will wokr. as for EAX support in Q3A, it's not gonna happen, though i'd be very happy if it did.

Both you are about half rigth but how ever NT didn't come with A3D drivers.
The good news is the official LW? for Win2K will have A3D 1.0 drivers.
