Quake3, Win2k, TNT2 ultra

This is a discussion about Quake3, Win2k, TNT2 ultra in the Windows Games category; Quake3 works fine but if I change the display settings, my framerates drop to around 5-10fps (normally around 40-50fps at high quality 800x600x32). And no I'm not trying to change it to something like 1600x1200x32! This problem even occurs when I drop the resolution, or even just type 'vid_restart' in the console.

So I exit the game and it runs fine again. It happens with all OpenGL games like SoF and HalfLife.

Running the 5.17 drivers, but it has happened with all the drivers I tried. I have tried reinstalling, but still doesn't help. Anyone else experience this problem??

My system specs: P3-500, 256MB PC100, TNT2 Ultra (Diamond), Windows 2000 Pro.

I have that same problem, I just change my video settings, then quit quake, and start it up again.

Funny thing is it happened to me once i upgraded to 5.17 drivers, so i went back to 5.16 and still happening.
