Quakeworld Server, weird error

This is a discussion about Quakeworld Server, weird error in the Windows Games category; NET_GetPacket: Unknown Error Whenever the server starts I get that and it exits. I thought I heard rumors about a problem with qwsv and Win2k, does anyone know of a fix?.

hrm, i've ran servers ok with out that problem... but I have ipx disabled. you might wanna try that. I run quake using a prog called quakeon, a very cool frontend.

Oh man, I tried disabling tcp/ip to see what would happen, I didn't even think of ipx.
Thanks, I'll give that a try.

Well, I'm not sure what the switch is to disable ipx, but -noipx doesn't seem to help. I tried running quakeon but it didn't seem to work either.I couldn't tell what the error was, so maybe it's something else. Can you export configuration sets? I'd like to try yours maybe.

and uh, are you running win2k final or a beta?

i'm running final.
well there's a check box to turn off ipx, did you try that?

what port are you running?
oh yeah, i had to change it from the default port because something was weird..
try running with -port 27016 in the command line, that should do it

hope that helps

actually, I found out the problem was a master server I had listed in my .cfg, once I removed it, it ran fine. Weird. Thanks for the help tho.
