Hi,

I have two systems at home - the first (and my main one) is dual-booted with 98 and Win2k Pro and works perfectly.

The second (a rather aging Gateway) was upgraded from 98 without any problems - all hardware was detected and installed correctly and most of the existing software worked fine as well.

Overall I have to say I've been EXTREMELY impressed with the stability and performance of Win2k on both systems - sure you get the odd problem with video drivers but that's the chance you take with pre-release betas.

Incidentially, I installed the final version of SP1 there yesterday and everything is still working fine....this has to be, in my opinion, Microsoft's best Opsys yet. (and no, I don't work for them!) ;-)

I still have yet to run into a problem with any game on Win2K [Quake3, Unreal Tourney, DiabloII].

Incidentally, I installed clean...

I ran a dual boot with 98/2000 for a month or so until I had tried everything under 2000.

Once I'd proved to myself that everything would be ifne, I wiped everything and did a clean install.
