Check your permissions if using NTFS.

Does the user have an account on the 2k machine?

OP
Windows 98 user has account on myt Windows 2000 computer. I'm not sharing files from my NTFS partition, only from FAT32.

I just can't understand why I must give write access also if I want W98 user to have read access.
