Red Alert 2 Install Problems (rare case)

For some reason, I cannot install Red Alert 2. This is an old operating system, but I have Windows 98. It also used to work a long time ago, but I uninstalled it and now the install doesn't work. When I go to the agree with the terms part, it suddenly just closes.

For some reason, I cannot install Red Alert 2. This is an old operating system, but I have Windows 98. It also used to work a long time ago, but I uninstalled it and now the install doesn't work. When I go to the agree with the terms part, it suddenly just closes. It has the animation, but it doesn't have the text and it just closes and returns to Windows. I don't know why this is happening and I have searched everywhere with no answer at all. I tried finding out the error, so I ran it in a windowed mode. Then it had the setup failed error with the X in a red circle and this script. Please help.

I had the same problem on my computer, which is running Windows XP Pro. I managed to work out that it was ASPI that was crashing Setup at the same point. After removing it and restarting, I was able to install RA2 successfully. I also couldn't install Tiberian Sun either whilst ASPI was installed.

Do you have any SCSI devices or controllers in your computer? Are you using any virtual CD drives, such as Daemon Tools?

If not, then search for files that begin with wnaspi in your windows directory and the subfolders. If any are found, move them to Recycle Bin. That way if the problem isn't fixed, then they can be restored to their original location. Afterwards, restart and try installing again.

Sorry, but what does SCSI mean? Also, I did not have daemon tools and tried to install it using it recently, but it didn't work either. It didn't work before, so it wasn't daemon tools causing the problem. Also, I tried moving all the files with aspi in the recycle bin, but it didn't work. I appreciate the help, but do you know of anything else causing the problem?
