Red Light on tower / Harddrive Activation ?
This is a discussion about Red Light on tower / Harddrive Activation ? in the Windows Hardware category; as soon as i boot into windows 2000 and after its all booted up and ready to go noticed the red light on my case blinks ever 2 seconds and i can hear the hard drive when the light blinks, it wont stop doing this to i do something or open something??? i have p3 600eb, abit be62, 128mb, more info can be found out at

Its probably because its cacheing stuff on your harddrive, and that redlight means its accessing your drive

ya i kinda figured that, how do i fix it? TIA
Well, either cut down on what you are loaing in the background at startup. Or add more ram. If you just want to get rid of the light, you could alwasy just unplug it.
