Removing 2000-pro systray icons

This is a discussion about Removing 2000-pro systray icons in the Customization Tweaking category; Just loaded 2000-pro for the first time. Real steep learning curve at this end. My first question is, How do you prevent programs from loading icons into the systray? In Win98Se, I could disable the icon-load from within msconfig.

That's enough for now. I'm certain there will be more questions as the days go by.

I know there's a registry setting, but since I use X-Setup, I really can't remember how. Look under HKEY_LOCAL MACHINE, somewhere, probably under the Microsoft-->Windows key, look for a file called Startup. I don't remember exactly, but I'm pretty sure it's somewhere under HKEY_LOCAL MACHINE.

OP
Thanks for the suggestions. I don't mean to be dense, but what is an IMO search?

no you're not being dense. It's better to ask a question no matter how awkward it may be, than to not ask a question to begin with. Well IMO stands for In My Opinion.
