Run the actual EXE file, NOT the shortcut that the link uses.
BUT you are going to have problems creating players. You'll have to import a player profile form 98 or something to get around it

I have tried using the exe , i still get the direct X 6 is not installed do you want to isntall it now message.
there are 2 EXE files there, one fo them allows you to run the game. just try it and see, it won't hurt you
