OK, here's a solve that might work for you:

Method 1: In the Device Manager, check the installed device under 'Computer'. Ten to
one that it's installed as 'Advanced Configuration and Power Interface
(ACPI) PC'. Now change the driver to 'Standard PC'. Be prepared to install
all hardware drivers again at the reboot... Now you probably can install LiveWare succesfully (the latter following the SBLive method).

Method 2: Go to Control Panel \ System \ Hardware \ Device Manager then navigate to Computer \ Standard PC View the properties of this item & Disable PCI Steering by uncheck all three box.

Ops forgot this to
If the Liveware3 installer dosen't start rigth you need to go to
?:\Documents and Settings\%USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Temp\lW3\AUDIO\ENGISH\SETUP\SETUP.EX_ rename to SETUP.EXE then run setup.exe from this folder

If the PlayCenter installer dosen't start rigth you need to go to
?:\Documents and Settings\%USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Temp\LAVAPLC\Setup.exe then run setup.exe from this folder

Why do you need to disable PCI Steering?

Or,

You can continue to use the default WDM drivers, which are:

a.) more stable (esp. for SMP)
b.) include direct sound (LW3 NT does not)
c.) doesn't screw up power management
d.) doesn't require invasive reconfiguration of your hardware.

As I see it, 4 speakers and EAX is not worth the effort of the 4 hassles above. I will wait till Creative releases LW3 for Win2k, which, knowing their track record, I expect to be in March or April.

Well some people do want 4 speaker support and EAX and it isnt hard to make Live!Ware work BUT you do need some basic experience with Windows and hardware but some people like bashing others because they dont understand the work people put into solving other users in the communities problems. I would like to thank the people on this site for helping me get all my stuff working in Win2K if it wasnt for them I would still be using 98 SE
