This is a discussion about Sharing Folders Between Win98 and Win2k network in the Windows Software category; Hi, I am trying to share my files on my comp(win2k) with another computer(win98) on a home network. . . I can acces their files but they cannot access mine. . . when we try to access mine we get as prompt for IPC password.

I am trying to share my files on my comp(win2k) with another computer(win98) on a home network... I can acces their files but they cannot access mine... when we try to access mine we get as prompt for IPC password...?... I tried ever password I could think of... any ideas

You could try creating a guest account...use the name and password you assign when it prompts you. Good luck.

Make sure on the Win2k system u have a user with the same name and password ans user on the Win98 system. Enable sharing in the Network setup, then on Win2k system for every drive AND directory enable shearing.
