SMC Barricade router with apps and games. Help pls?

This is a discussion about SMC Barricade router with apps and games. Help pls? in the Windows Networking category; Hello, I recently bought a SMC router. The problem is that some games won't work anymore. It occurs with Colin Mcrea 2 and AOE the Conq. Where do I configure the built-in firewall so that I can host or join these apps and games? Hello,

The barricade gives you the option to set yourself with a static ip on one computer while the others use DHCP. Set up the system you wish to play games on with a static ip, then you can host games. You should be able to join from any system even with DHCP. There are a few programs that you will have to get parameters from to route a hole thru the router by opening the ports they require. I have mine set this way and just turn these on these openings thru the router as I need them, then I close them when not in use. If you need more specific instructions let me know and I'll help you as best as I can....
