When you cannot install or have problems installing software:
 
When I tried to install Adaptec drivers for the cd-r, it was zeroing the size of the new
files, and when I reboot, BSOD.
Reason the crappy file protection, how to disable ? Here goes, open regedit search for

Modify all the instances (two of them) of the file protection as marked up there.
