Sound card crashing games?

This is a discussion about Sound card crashing games? in the Windows Hardware category; Could my Yamaha opl3-sax (yah I know, not a great soundcard but that'll change later) crash games that are heavily cpu intensive with lots of sounds and textures, etc. . ? Specifically,I'm talking about Half-Life: Counter-Strike.
