Sound not working even though there are no conflicts
This is a discussion about Sound not working even though there are no conflicts in the Windows Hardware category; I am using an I/O Magicwave PCI soundcard (I believe this uses that Aureal Vortex 1 chip). The drivers are installed and device manager shows no conflicts. Yet, I don't get any sound. It was working fine just an hour before when I was still on Windows 98, and I didn't mess with the speakers or anything.

Thank you!

OP
It's supposed to work fine, and I was using the WDM drivers. In case this problem is 'unsolvable', can you recommend a good, affordable sound card that works fine in Win 2K? Thanks!
SB Live ;-)
I have SB PCI 128. Works fine, cheap (l<20$), but no 3D sound under Win2k (I mean under Win98, I had 4 way speakers : frontleft, frontright, rearleft, rearright but oinly front left frontright with Win2k).
