SP1 breaks WinTV Driver

This is a discussion about SP1 breaks WinTV Driver in the Windows Software category; It seems that win2k SP1 breaks the Hauppaugge WinTv driver (at least it broke mine ). Anyone else with this experience? How about a work-around? I have currently uninstalled SP1 and I now have my TV tuner back but I would really like to have SP1 with my TV.

It works okay on my system. However, that may be due to the fact that I am using the WDM drivers rather than the VFW drivers, in addition to DX8 beta. Good luck!

What is the difference between VFW and WDM drivers and where do I get WDM from? Also when is DX8 due out?

Maybe I spoke too soon. I reinstalled the driver and app. Then I reinstalled SP1 and all seems to be working. I guess the first time around was just a freak occurence (I hope).
