Speed with Iomega Parallell zip.

This is a discussion about Speed with Iomega Parallell zip. in the Windows Hardware category; Is there a way to make my zip-drive faster. In windows 98 it took about 5 mins to copy a disk to my harddrive. But now in win2k it takes about 30 mins. Has anyone got ideas?.

How did you get win2k to even recognize your parrallel zip drive? I tried to install to latest iomega software, but it gives a message that "win2000 is not supported" or something to that affect. Which version of the drivers are you using?

Boot computer with zip-drive. Go to device manager and ports. Select printer port and port settings, check enable plug and play...
After that win2k finds you zip-drive, you don't need any other drivers.

Maybe it IS the drivers you are using?? goto www.win2knews.com and underfiles section, there are drivers for your ZIP drive. See if they are any better.
