Star Trek Armada Sound in win2k?

This is a discussion about Star Trek Armada Sound in win2k? in the Windows Games category; Anyone notice that the sound is bad in the movie scenes? I am running win2k final pro, and liveware 2000 final. . Just wondering if it is the game, or a conflict? BoDEAN.

I recommend that you run Dxdiag and go to the sound tab. I turned sound accleration to off for Hidden and Dangerous to play properly, and its still set there for Armada, although I do still get some glitches now and again, but it sounds better.

I removed Liveware 2000(reverting to the WDM basic driver) and Armada works perfectly now.

I thought about that too, but then my sound in Q3A is screwed and slows the game down.

Arrrrggghhhh, can't win either way. Armada is playable, only just, and I hate just going back to 98 just for a couple of games.
