Okay, I'm posting this here, and in a few other places..
I have a "small" problem with win2k...
it won't boot..
I tried installing over it..
that doesn't boot either..
Here's what happens/ed..
I start the PC..win2k loads on the "..with NT technology" screen with the blue status bar..
then it checks the FAT32-win98 drive for errors(usually finds some)then when it tries to initilize the win2k GUI, it BOSD's and restarts..
I can't figure out why..
I decided I was going to create a second partition on that NTFS drive and install a second win2k, so I could back up the data I need off the 1st install of 2k..
I get "could not be unmounted" or something like that from PM5.0..
so I try the FAT32 drive and it tells me that the FAT table has errors..

1) how can I get the info off the win2k drive
(I know, delete the 98 partition and install 2k there, I have no problems doing that..)
2) can I fix the 98 FAT table error?(providing I don't have to install 2k over it?)
#1 is more important that #2, as I've already got all the data off the win98 drive that I want..

win2k and win98 are on two different physical drives..

Any thoughts?

Thanks guys..

Are you overclocking your processor?

When I overclocked mine, Windows 2000 would do the same thing you are describing.
