Sticky Keys FIXED
This is a discussion about Sticky Keys FIXED in the Windows Games category; Just installed win2k dx8 beta. At first it DID NOT fix the problem. Upon closer examination through dxdiag I noticed that many of the dx files were not being replaced, such as dsound. dll and dinput.
Just installed win2k dx8 beta. At first it DID NOT fix the problem. Upon closer examination through dxdiag I noticed that many of the dx files were not being replaced, such as dsound.dll and dinput. I tryed manually replacing the files by a straight copy. The OS would claim that the files were copied but after looking at version numbers and sizes it was apparent that they were not.
Solution:
I installed dx8 executable. Installed all inf's through explorer. Files still were not replaced. Rebooted into SAFE MODE...
Manually copied all files from dx8 zip (the place I got the stuff from had an .exe AND a zip file) file into winnt/system32...
Rogue Spear works like a champ now... Don't know if frame rates are better yet but it's playable, which is good for me because I have a p3c-2000 which works flawlessly in w2k but in 98 crashes all the time...
Just thought everyone would like to know...
Cheers
