STOP: c000026c
This is a discussion about STOP: c000026c in the Windows Hardware category; i am getting a STOP: c000026c {Unable to Load Device Driver} \SystemRoot\System32\Drivers\Ks. sys device driver could not be loaded Error Status was 0xc000012f when 2000 boots up. 2000 crashed while instaling modem voice drivers.
i am getting a
STOP: c000026c {Unable to Load Device Driver}
\SystemRoot\System32\Drivers\Ks.sys device driver could not be loaded
Error Status was 0xc000012f
when 2000 boots up. 2000 crashed while
instaling modem voice drivers. Aldough i have removed the physical modem of
the machine it does not boot in safe mode or last good or any other advanced
boot options all end up the same blue screen same mesage. i could not locate
the recovery disks too.
any body had similar problems before
any suggestions?

Try running the emergency repair option off the Win2k cd. Boot off of it like you would to install, but hit 'R' instead of 'Enter'.
I cant guarantee that will work, but its worth a shot if nothing else.
It will attempt to find the WINNT directory, and will let you know if it has a problem.
