Stronghold crusader freezes

I play for about half an hour then it stops. ive restarted my computer and reinstalled it but it still freezes. it only started a few months ago.

One of my favourite games "stronghold crusader" always freezes with no explanation. I play for about half an hour then it stops. ive restarted my computer and reinstalled it but it still freezes. it only started a few months ago. first the loading screen was all mucked up then the sound started going funny. No error codes come up. is this something a patch can fix? Plz help!!!!
