stuttering sound in games

This is a discussion about stuttering sound in games in the Windows Games category; hi all I'm using w2k(2072), with TNT2 & SBLive!, and with almost every games the sound sounds crappy, with clicks, stuttering etc. . I guess it has something to do with directX, but I'm not sure. . Does anyone has the same pb ? any solutions around that ?.

anyone got any ideas on get a space orb to work ?

Back in the good old days (one week ago) I had a P233 MMX... Lots of stuttering on the sound. With a 366 Celeron the stuttering was almost all gone, and with the same cely at 550, no stuttering at all. Not really much help if you are on a budget, but one solution at least.
