This is a discussion about TCP/IP Stack Dies After Any Install or Reboot in the Windows Software category; Hi. . . Okay, I'm running SP1 (in upgrade fashion) and no matter what, if I install a program or reboot my PC, I can no longer connect to the internet. Hi...Okay, I'm running SP1 (in upgrade fashion) and no matter what, if I install a program or reboot my PC, I can no longer connect to the internet. As long as I don't install anything, or reboot, it works fine. I'm not running ZoneAlarm or BlackIce (although I did in the past. Any ideas?

hmm well i had the same problem with my modem it would always say that it could not find it. only fix I found was to goto device manager and uninstall the modem and then scan for changes and it would reinstall it and then all was fine.. however after i did a fresh install of win2k pro and then before I install anything I install the SP1. since then I hardly ever get the problem
