throtle problem with microsoft sidewinder joy stick

This is a discussion about throtle problem with microsoft sidewinder joy stick in the Windows Games category; can't get throtle movement control. A microprose technician once solved this problem by deleting a file from pirates moon and replacing it with the matching file from mechwarrior three. I can't remember which file it was.
