Trouble installing Windows NT 2000

This is a discussion about Trouble installing Windows NT 2000 in the Windows Hardware category; During installation, my computer freezes after the main screen loads device drivers, and says Starting Windows 2000 I see it poll the com port (my modem lights flicker) and keyboard lights too. I think it's due to the Sound Blaster Live! because it used to install fine before I got it.

Well, I pulled the Live! and it still wouldn't install. This leaves only 1 possible problem. My Diamond Viper V770. Anyone know a possible video workaround?

Do you happen to have an HiVal/Kenwood 40x CDROM drive by any chance ?

Disable ACPI support in BIOS and set it to
ACPI_Enable=0 in txtsetup.sif " and re-install Win2k.

PS. I have Live! and it works just fine.

No HiVal drive (I tried one, it sucked). I'm positive that's it's the Diamond Viper V770, and I don't expect Diamond to release new drivers or even a bios update until the year 3004. The seem to only update once every other millenium.

If u so sure it is ya card get a new video card and try again. Borrow ya friends or get a cheap PCI card from OfficeDepot or whatever, pick the one with *cough*15 day satisfaction *cough*.

I do have another card. A 16 meg Xentor TNT 2, and Windows 2000 installs fine with it. But I don't want to use 'that' card I want the faster one for some reason...
