TweakUI & "show version on desktop"
This is a discussion about TweakUI & "show version on desktop" in the Windows Software category; Unlike most ppl here, I never got to see any of the Win2k beta's, so I was curious what this show windows version on desktop was all about. I saw the option in tweakUI, so I tried it. It was neat, but now I want to turn it OFF! I've unchecked the box, but it won't go away! lol Any clues?.

Hmmm, I just tried that and it did'nt show anything. I as well am with 2195 RTM. I suppose you could try "Restore factory settings"
Is that a clue?

This bothered me for a while in the beta program. But it does kind of make sense.
Apparently you are using the 120-day Eval version... BY default, it is supposed to ignore the setting and show the version on matter what.
If however you are using the cracked version of Win2K with a bogus serial, it is defaulted to off. But once you turn it on, you are stuck with it.
My suggestion... wait till February, and buy it.
