Have you had any luck with the Astra 1220 drivers? I haven't.
Win2k comes with a generic UMAX USB twain_32 driver already. I have the 1220U and it works fine. Maybe you could fool the system into thinking the 2000U is a 1220U and use the generic Win2k interface.
PS If you want to try, get with me on ICQ or email and I can modify the inf file to detect your 2000U as a 1220U. But I'd need some info out of your registry first as I don't have a 2000U here.
